Woodwork.... HELP!!!!

I've covered my old cracked plaster walls with 1/4" drywall. Now I need to put the trim back up around the doors and windows, but with the new wallboard, the wall sticks out a 1/4" more from the casings (or frames?) Whats the best way to fix this? I suppose I probably should have left the trim up and drywalled around it, but........

Now, you need to either make 1/4" extension jambs or dado ou the backs of your casing if it is thick enough and if you are ertain there are no killer nials left in it. I opt for the extension jambs and yes, you should have left them up or removed the plaster with this final dimension in mind.

If you are painting then the expansion jams are the best solution. The jams will look odd if you cut the drywall out to fit the jams. They will be even with the wall and not standing proud.
