I have no hot water. I am thinking that it might be the dip tube or the thermostat and how can I check to see which one it is and can I fix this myself? Help!!

Straight from my Reader's Digest Fix it yourself Manual.

GAS Check the pilot light first.

ELECTRIC High Temp cut off tripped. (Push reset button on high-temp cutoff.)

Faulty thermostat Test both thermostats. Need a volt-ohm meter.

Faulty heating element Test heating element. Need a volt-ohm meter.

It doesn't say anything about the dip tube being the reason for no hot water.

E-mail me if you need more info on testing those items. Do you have a volt-ohm meter?

Good luck,
Devildog
