What would cause the lino floor in my brand new home to make a "crackling" sound only in certain spots, when it has not been walked on for a while. The more the floor is walked on the "crackling" sound from these spots disappears, thus making it harder to problem solve.I have heard it might be the adhesive under the lino or the lino underlay not stapled properly or even the o.s.b. subfloor, but I don't know.
Also is seam telegraphing normal, as I have two areas where this is happening?

Thanks for your help.
