HARDWOOD FLOORS
RECENTLY PURCHASED A HOME. HAVE HARDWOOD FLOORS &. NOTICE SQUEAKY SOUNDS IN CERTAIN AREAS OF THE FLOOR.I THINK THE WOOD HAS A POLYURETHANE FINISH. IS THERE A SEALER THAT CAN BE USED OR DO I NEED TO HAVE THE ENTIRE FLOOR REFINISHED TO GET RID OF THESE SOUNDS?.
Hi c,
Are you saying that the 'finish' on the 'top' of the floor squeeks when you walk on it? Or, are you saying that the boards are squeeking???
If the squeek is from the former, then you need vinyl-backed runners, mats, and area rugs, or ..., change your shoes (or put some on.)
If it's from the latter, then you need to 'shim' or screw down the boards that are squeeking.
Let 'us' know more about the problem. For now, my best to ya and hope this helps.
