Greetings,

The oven heating element of my old 1950's or 60's electric Frigidaire Compact 30 Cookmaster is on its last legs. This stove is so old, they don't make any in the same dimensions anymore. Or do they? It is shorter (lower) than contemporary stoves, and it's dropped in between two sides of the kitchen counter and there is a built-in wooden drawer beneath it. If I get a brand new stove, the drawer will have to be cut out. Does anyone know if any company makes odd-size ovens? Maybe a repro place?

Thanks for any help.

** they don't make any in the same dimensions anymore. Or do they? **

That is impossible to say without first properly identifying the appliance in question.

** Frigidaire Compact 30 Cookmaster **

I'm afraid that is not enough information to identify the appliance in question. What is needed is its exact model number.

You can find tips for locating the model number identification tag on your appliances in the 'Repair Parts' section of my web site linked below.

We have the same oven and are having problems finding something that will fit without cabinet modifications.

Can it not be repaired??

I can almost guarantee you will NOT find a new appliance model that will fit as a straight replacement. Older built-in appliances were never standardized in size (see the following link), especially between brands.

You will likely have to try to find a used GM Frigidaire range of similar design to install in place of yours, repair the one you have or remodel your kitchen (at least somewhat) to accommodate any modern replacement range.
