I have a kenmore 70 series washer that wont spin or drain.

I drained it by hand & checked for kinks in the hose & it still wont spin or drain. Inspected the lid switch mechanism & Im wondering if there is a tab or something that may have broken off & which is usually held down when the lid is closed. lid seems to be fine, not bent or anything. pin on the lid goes into the hole where I assume the lid switch (tab) would be, but doesn't hit anything. I can look in & see the lid switch mechanism in tact (screwed to the inside of the lid) but no tab that would be held down. I also tried to hold it down with my finger but could not.

any suggestions?
