My home was built in the early '40's and has distinct musty odors in several rooms. I have tried carpet treatments, air freshners, cedar blocks, etc. They all just mask the odor. Isn't there something on the market to eliminate this musty odor? I have heard of a product called Mother's Nature Odor Remover, but have not been able to locate it. HELP!

Vermont Country Store -- mail order -- or Solutions may have it. I have used a large bag of volcanic rocks sold in some of these types of places or in some large linen & more stores. It worked like a champ. Took away the odor from a two-cat litter box in a cupboard, and the musty odor from some spilled gardening chemicals in a pantry. To refresh it you just let it sit out in the sun for a day. It's kind of dusty when you first use it. You can hang it from a cup hook or small nail in the closet, etc.

Make sure you don't have a small leak that is causing the rugs or carpet pads to never really dry out tool.
