Please help. We don't know what else to do.

Our shower head went from a annoying few drips to rapid drips to a slow stream. We have replaced the washer on the stem. We replaced the seat. We did not replace the stem this time but it has been replaced within the last year. We tried both cone shape and flat washers on the stem.

During one interaction of changes, we put the stem back in and had the knob in the off position. When we turned the cut of value back on, there was no dripping. When we turned the faucet on and the off again, the dripping started again.

Hoping you can give some incite.

We put a new shower head in it still dripped. We turned the hot water in till it was very hot. The turned it off. The water progressively got colder so we determined it must be the cold water dripping. We switched the stems for the cold and hot water. We turned the hot water on till it got very hot and turned it off. This time the water stayed warm. Even after double the time it was still warm. So the problem followed the stem. We replaced the hot water stem. Still dripping.
