I am remodelling my bathroom and went to replace the vanity light fixture today. I removed the strip of lights that was previously there and there is no electrical box installed. How do I go about installing this new light that requires an electrical box? Is there much involved in putting in a box? Thank you!

What you need is an old work box.

There are different types, but most common styles have "epanding wings" of one type or another.

Cut a hole for the back of the box then put the cable through the box and put the box in the hole.

The turn the screws on the box and the wings will come out and tighten to clamp the box to the DW.
