I am trying to brighten up my sons room. One the walls is Knotty pine panelling. My husband likes the wood and I hate it. We have come to a compromise of Staining the walls with a White wash pickling stain. Be fore we begin we are looking for some advice on how to go about doing this. We would appreciate any advice we can get. Thank you
If the paneling is not urethaned you use a white stain and get the look you want. If it is urethaned you can try thinning some oil based paint and putting that on the panelingand see if that gives you the look you want. I would start with 25 percent thinner in the paint and adjust as needed. But be sure to start in a out of the way area.
