My fiance and I just bought an old turn of the century farm house with hardwood floors throughout. The floors dont look like they have ever been refinished or anything else done to them for that matter. They look like the finish has completely worn off of most of the floor and some of it looks as though it may have been sanded down at one time. We are going to refinish the floors sometime in the near future, but for now they are extremely dirty and I wanted to know what would be the best method to use to clean them.

I have the same situation with some wood parquet flooring. It desperately needs refinished, but it is not in the budget at present. Any tips on cleaning in the meantime would be greatly appreciated!
