Bvelectrical
this is a kenmore top load washer.

110 92580100

the trouble i am having is when you close the lid you need to push down on it to engage the lid switch.

is there any adjustment on it or does it need to be replaced.

also does the machine need to be disassembled to gain access to the switch or can you work on through the top?

thank you

** when you close the lid you need to push down on it to engage the lid switch. **

That sounds like a problem with the lid switch mechanism (see the following links).

** is there any adjustment on it **

There are not usually any "adjustments" that can be made to the lid switch but someone will actually have to look at it to see for certain.

** or does it need to be replaced. **

If the switch is broken in any way, yes it will likely need to be replaced.
