We have several rooms that have a strong ammonia like order after painting. It's been a month since we applied the original coat of paint. The drywall was primed with Kilz and painted with Glidden 2 in 1. After reading in several forums we suspect the odor was caused by painting at low temperatures. The walls were primed again with a clear odor killing primer and painted twice over with a behr 2 in 1 at warmer temperatures. The smell is still there, making the rooms uninhabitable. They have been ventilated daily. All the other rooms in the house smell fine. They were painted with behr and valspar over the same kilz. What can be the cause of the odor?
