I moved to a new home 6 months ago. I made a mistake of not hiring my owns inspector. My builder tells me that the inspector who inspected the house approved the move so we did. When I had an alarm installed the installer found no insulation in the roof which my builder did attend to but I wasn't there when they did if they did do it right.

My builder have tried to fixed my radiant heat about 3 times as it is not distributing heat properly and the thermostat is not controlling the right area. Needless to say it is still not fixed. I had them fix my front door so we don't have to slam it to close but they just damaged the frame and just covered it around with wood. It's hidious but they don't seem to care. The weather stripping if it did have any are gone. Those are just some of many things that by builder seem to ignore.

I am suppose to have a 2-5-10 year warranty but my builder have not provided the documentation. I'm a single mom. I can't afford to hire a lawyer, do I have to?

Please help. Thanks.

Hi go to www.badstucco.com there you will find the links section. Either HADD or HOBB might help get him moving. Try contacting Nancy Seats with hadd. Good luck

For new home construction, only the municipality, county or State code inspection applies.

And since most 'real estate' or 'home inspectors' are not certified of trained Code inspectors, your builder is probably right not to allow anyone of such questionable creditials to "inspect' his newly built home for any code violations.
