Surprisingly I have found very few posts on this topic.
I have several paint chips and cracks with loose edges I would like to repair on an oil base painted door.
How do I repair for a smooth finish? Do I scrape, sand, fill, sand and repaint? How do I feather the edges of the oil paint so it matches?
Let me know if you know of an an article which addresses this.
Thank

It may be easier just to strip the door, seeing as how the paint is letting go.If you went thru that work and it happened to let loose in different spots then all your work would be in vain.

the odds are you wont be able to touch up. old oil has yellowed the coller has changed it will be close to impossible to touch up.

Is this an exterior surface or interior?
