I have an attic over my garage with a V-formed truss (all coming to the center to form a V)at the beginning and the end of the peaks. Presently we enter the attic with a ladder from a hole in the garage ceiling. I want to cut the truss so I can put in a full-sized door so I can enter the attic from the hallway in my house. Can we rebrace them and still keep the roof line structurally sound? Thank you.

A truss is an engineered component, integral to the entire roof structure. Any modification of this structural element requires evaluation by an engineer. While considerable safety margins are built into the design of a truss, the removal or modification of a truss can structurally compromise your house, or at least a part of the roof. Not only that, but truss roof systems are not typically designed to carry storage loads. The addition of a floor and storage items probably violate the design intention of the truss.

Sorry, no help here. You need to have a qualified engineer or truss designer look at your proposal.

Thank you for your reply, but I had a feeling that you would say that. Thanks for the advice.

TomH and Piffin are both more than correct and I agree.
