This is my first attempt at crown molding. For my first piece going from inside corner to inside corner, do I need to cut a mitre angle at each end, or can I leave one end flush to the corner?

I think I must mitre cut both ends because it is unlikely that each corner is a perfect 90 degree angle, correct?

It will depend on how you will be handling the inside corners.

If you are planning on coping you would cut that corner straight and then 45 & cope the other side.

There is a tutorial I put on my site for cutting crown moulding if you were interested?
